In August 2019, Eiken Chemical announced the “Declaration of Healthy Management,” a plan which aims to enable to keep all employees healthy and cheerful in their work every single day. This policy established a “Healthy Management Promotion System” as a coordinated effort of the Company and its employees, and a variety of other systems have been created as well.

In order to realize our management philosophy, “Protect the health of the public through health care services.”, each employee must be healthy both physically and mentally. We declare that we will maintain and improve the mental and physical health of our employees by creating a workplace environment where they can work in a healthy, cheerful and active manner. |
Our management philosophy is to “protect the health of the public through health care services.” In order to achieve this goal, each and every employee must be both physically and mentally healthy. We hereby declare our intent to develop a workplace environment for healthy, cheerful, and lively work activities and strive to maintain and improve our employees’ physical and mental health.
In promoting health management, we have set target indicators (KPIs) and visualize how each measure is contributing to the resolution of health issues.

For the purpose of preventing lifestyle-related diseases and early detection of cancer, we conduct the following health checkups at the company's expense.
・Lifestyle-related disease checkups: Conducted for employees over the age of 35.
・Gynecological examinations (cervical cancer and breast cancer screenings): Conducted for female employees over the age of 30.
・PSA screening (prostate cancer screening): Conducted for male employees over 50 years old.
・Colorectal cancer screening: Regardless of age, it is conducted at the company's expense for those who wish.
Through these efforts, we help employees maintain their health and detect diseases early.

In addition to follow-up measures after health checkups by industrial physicians and occupational health nurses, we have established a company-wide health consultation system, including mental health. Through this, we support the maintenance and improvement of the physical and mental health of each employee, and through these initiatives, we aim to create a work environment where employees can work with peace of mind.
We are promoting phased smoking cessation measures with the aim of maintaining the health of our employees and realizing a comfortable working environment. In April 2019, we began introducing "No Smoking Day" and "No Smoking Time" to combat smoking throughout the company.
Every Wednesday and Friday are designated as "No Smoking Days," and all business sites (facilities and premises), sales offices, and company-owned vehicles are completely non-smoking, including e-cigarettes.
The time period from the start to the end of work (excluding lunch breaks) is designated as "non-smoking time" and we are promoting the creation of an environment that prohibits smoking.
Smoking in business premises is limited to designated smoking areas, and we are gradually reviewing the smoking environment as part of health management. All smoking areas are scheduled to be removed in April 2028.
Since October 2021, we have been providing subsidies for outpatient smoking cessation treatment and smoking cessation aids to those who wish to quit smoking for the purpose of preventing cancer, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, etc. We actively support our employees in their efforts to quit smoking.

We are committed to preventing occupational accidents (including commuting accidents). The Company establishes Heath and Safety Committees in each location, furnishes comfortable workplace environments and strives to improve workplace safety. To reduce accidents among sales personnel, the Company promotes safe driving in numerous ways. In addition to instilling strong safety awareness, Eiken Chemical introduces effective resources to reduce accident risk and support safe driving. We also prepare for disasters such as major earthquakes and fires and the spread of infectious disease. The Company prepares response manuals and conducts regular education and training, to prevent harm to people and achieve quick recovery.
