  Hidden diseases are difficult to find in animals without clinical signs and symptoms. Acute phase proteins (APP) are well-described inflammatory markers used for health assessment, diagnosis and prognosis in a growing body of literature.

• Recently, there has been growing interest in the early detection and prevention of chronic inflammation, such as chronic kidney disease, obesity, and diabetes. This trend extends the focus beyond acute inflammation, revealing new insights through high-sensitivity measurements.
