On February 20, 2019, Eiken Chemical Co., Ltd. celebrated the 80th anniversary of its founding. Looking back on our path up until now, our company has always stayed true to the vision of our founders, protecting people's health in every era. Rather than focusing on profits, the core principle of our company management is contribution to people's lives. By progressing with this ideal, we hope to continue introducing measures the world needs.
Thanks to the cheering and support given by everyone who got related with our company, as well as the employees who have walked this path along with us, Eiken has been able to stay in business. While expressing our gratitude from the heart, we have also developed an increasingly strong desire to take a new leap forward as a human health support corporation.
In recent years, our products are being used not only in Japan but also in various countries all over the world. Along this development, we are putting more and more effort into the creation of global health protection products. To meet the demand in foreign markets, we must pay attention to the needs and problems of local people and develop products that resolve these issues in each country. In order to achieve this, we are working to become a more integrated company with strengthened internal communication. As we work with foreign market conditions in our field of vision, there are sure to be customs we've held onto that must be discarded, as well as further changes we must adapt to. While finding enjoyment in these changes, each and every one of us must become a better version of ourselves, continually taking on challenges without fear of failure and maintaining an organization in which all employees make efforts to work together and cooperate in harmony.
In addition, as the declining birth rate and aging population trends continue in Japan, innovation in medical care systems is becoming a major issue. Various types of preventive care and tests are sure to be a focus of future efforts for resolution. This problem is not one which should be left to the government to handle alone. Medical supply manufacturing companies like us, as well as academia, should take initiative to work on it as well.
